Lexis Henry is a dedicated and dynamic 7th Grade Social Studies teacher at Gunning Bedford Middle School, where she has proudly served the Colonial School District for the past five years. A graduate of Delaware State University, Lexis was a Division I soccer player and continues to carry that same discipline, teamwork, and leadership into her classroom every day. She is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, further strengthening her commitment to excellence in education.

Lexis is certified in both middle school Science and Social Studies and plays a vital leadership role within her school community. She serves as a 7th Grade Team Leader and is the Co-Chair of the Social Studies Department, helping to guide instructional practices and support her colleagues.

Her teaching philosophy is rooted in inclusivity, relationship-building, and student empowerment. Lexis is passionate about creating a classroom environment where every student feels safe, seen, and valued. She believes that students learn best when they embrace their differences and learn from one another, and she is deeply committed to supporting both their academic success and personal growth.

Inspired by a long line of educators in her family, Lexis knew from an early age that teaching was her calling. Surrounded by role models who believed in the transformative power of education, she carries forward that legacy by fostering a love of learning and encouraging her students to be agents of change in their communities.

Originally from The Bronx, New York, Lexis brings her energy, pride, and authenticity into everything she does. Outside the classroom, she is a passionate supporter of Manchester United Football Club.
